I bought a 1914 Ladies Golden Sunbeam from a chap in N. Ireland in 2016. His photos weren’t brilliant, but i could see nice transfers on it. When it arrived i was pleasantly surprised to find a wartime front lamp with it, which still had its partially blacked-out lens. As you can see, I featured a photo of it in my book.
The tyres needed replacing so i dropped it off to my friend Tony Child so he could service it at the same time. I picked it up some weeks later and Tony proudly showed me the rear tyre that came off it. Another pleasant surprise – he had removed decades of dirt from the tyre to reveal the writing on the sidewall …look what it says!
